ELMDON Crime Update 28/07/2026-05/08/2026

Good Morning Elmdon Residents,

It's been a busy week for the local LEOS NHT with a good amount of progress made on a number of crime reports having a direct impact on Elmdon Residents and a very successful PACT meeting held.

Please find below the crimes reported between 28/07/2026-05/08/2026:

On the afternoon of the 29TH JULY 2026, there was a theft from the person on FALLOWFIELD ROAD whereby an unknown person has approached the victim and hugged them in order to steal a necklace from them. Extensive CCTV enquiries have been conducted by our PCSOs in order to try and identify the suspect in this investigation.

In the early hours of the 30TH JULY 2026, there was a theft of a motor vehicle on EASTFIELD DRIVE of MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER using the keys. The vehicle has since been located and returned to owner.

On the 3RD AUGUST 2026, there was a theft of pedal cycle by unknown offenders in ELMDON PARK. Unfortunately, we have not been able to identify the suspects in this matter.

We have received a number of recent complaints regarding speeding on Valley Road and nearby roads. We are very much aware of this issue and engaging with the local council regarding speeding measures. We are also looking to conduct some speed safety operations in this area soon.

GOOD NEWS:

The Team assisted our CID teams this week and arrested a young male on suspicion of wounding following an assault involving weapons. The weapon used in the offence was recovered from the address and the male is now before the Courts awaiting trial.

We have dealt with a male for theft where he has taken advantage of the kind will of a member of the public who he asked for assistance. While the victim was distracted the male made off with cash that had been withdrawn from a cash point. He was quickly arrested and charged, and the victim has had their money returned to them.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the community meeting we held on Tuesday afternoon at the Hatchford Brook Family Hub. There was a good turn out and some really valuable engagement resulting in some opportunities to for the team to further tackle the issues that matter to the local community.

Following extensive CCTV and ANPR work we have been able to identify a suspect for a theft matter where a vulnerable lady was robbed of a cherished item of jewellery. We managed to get a name for the suspect and a location and they are now WANTED with police across the Midlands closing the net in to get them behind bars where they belong. Without the help of members of the public providing us with footage we would not have been able to get nearly as far with this investigation, thank you. We have made numerous attempts to arrest this person, and will continue to do so until they are caught and the right outcome is sought for the victim. We will not have people travelling into our area to target vulnerable people and commit crime. Again, thank you to all the help from local residents assisting our enquiries.
